Comparison
Brytic vs Semrush
This is not a like-for-like comparison and it would be misleading to present it as one. Semrush is a full SEO platform that has added AI visibility to an existing suite; Brytic does one job. Semrush also ships genuine AI-readiness checks inside Site Audit — llms.txt, blocked AI crawlers, semantic HTML — at every subscription level, so "they only do traditional SEO" is not true. The real question is whether you need an SEO suite alongside AI visibility, and how many people need access.
| Feature | Brytic | Semrush |
|---|---|---|
| Primary focus | Purpose-built for GEO: monitoring plus an AI Site Audit | A full SEO platform with an AI Visibility Toolkit added on top |
| What you actually buy | One product from $89/mo, nothing else required | AI Visibility Toolkit at $99/mo per domain as an add-on; Semrush One bundles it with the SEO suite from $199/mo |
| Tracked prompts at the entry tier | 50 on Starter | 25 on the AI Visibility Toolkit; a further 50 costs $60/mo |
| Seats | Unlimited on every plan | Each additional user needs their own AI Visibility licence at $99/mo |
| AI-readiness auditing | AI Site Audit on every plan; Deep AI Audit gives page-level recommendations on Growth and above | AI Search checks inside Site Audit at every tier — llms.txt, blocked AI bots, semantic HTML — capped at 100 pages on the AI Visibility Toolkit |
| Traditional SEO data | Not offered — no keyword research, backlinks or rank tracking | Full suite: keyword research, backlinks, rank tracking and 140+ site checks |
| Engines covered | Up to 6 on Enterprise | Mentions across ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google's AI surfaces; daily prompt tracking on ChatGPT Search, Google AI Mode and Gemini |
| Market coverage | One market per brand; separate brands per market | 68,000+ location and language combinations; 220+ countries for prompt tracking |
| Try before you buy | Free scan, no account required | No free trial on the AI Visibility Toolkit |
If you still need keyword research, backlinks and rank tracking, Semrush is the sensible home for AI visibility too — Brytic does none of that, and running two tools to avoid one subscription rarely pays. Brytic is the better fit when AI visibility is the job on its own, when more than one or two people need access (Semrush licenses the toolkit per user, we don't), or when you want a page-level GEO audit rather than a set of technical readiness flags inside a general SEO crawler.

Frequently asked questions
Is Brytic a good Semrush alternative?
Brytic is not a replacement for Semrush as a whole — it has no keyword research, backlink or rank tracking tools. It is a reasonable alternative to the Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit specifically: $89 per month with 50 tracked prompts and unlimited seats, against $99 per month per domain with 25 prompts and a $99 licence for each additional user. If you need the SEO suite as well, staying with Semrush is usually the simpler answer.
How is Brytic different from Semrush?
Scope and licensing. Semrush is a broad SEO platform where AI visibility is one toolkit among many, priced per domain and per user on top of a subscription. Brytic does GEO only, from $89 per month with unlimited seats on every plan. On auditing, Semrush flags technical AI-readiness issues inside its general Site Audit, while Brytic's audit is built specifically around why AI engines cite or skip a given page, with page-level recommendations on Growth and above.
Does Semrush track AI visibility?
Yes. The Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit tracks brand mentions, citations, sentiment and share of voice across ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google's AI surfaces, with daily prompt tracking on ChatGPT Search, Google AI Mode and Gemini. Its Site Audit also includes an AI Search category that checks for a missing llms.txt, blocked AI crawlers and weak semantic HTML. Anyone claiming Semrush ignores AI search is out of date.
